A new national online study from Crawford
Johnson & Northcott Inc finds that 87 percent of respondents said they were either actively seeking
information about the presidential election or paying attention to it. Television news is by far the preferred source, with local TV just as important as network and cable, according to this article in TVNewsday.
“We’ve
heard a lot about campaign coverage fatigue, but clearly that’s not the case,” CJ&N president John Altenbern told TVNewsday. “We suspect there’s more fatigue in
newsrooms than among the general public.”

RTNDA has joined a coalition of broadcast station owners and media organizations to
protest the FCC's Enhanced Disclosure Order. The rules adopted in the order would require television stations to compile
and provide to the FCC extraordinarily detailed information about programming,
as well as particulars about how the station ascertained the needs of its
community and made programming decisions accordingly.
